To “take down” information means to write / make a note of the information because you will need it later.

When you take messages on the phone, it’s important to take down the caller’s information correctly.

In this video I introduce some useful phrases to make sure that you take down the caller’s name and number correctly.

情報を 「take downする」とは、後で必要になるので書き留めるという意味です。

電話で伝言を受けるときは、相手の情報を正確にメモすることが大切です。

PHRASES:

  • Can I take your name and number?
  • Let me check that. Your number is XXXXXX?
  • Is “Rebecca” spelled R E B E C C A?
  • Is that I for Iceland, or Y for yellow?
  • How do you spell that?
  • How do you spell your name?
  • Sorry, can you say that/your name/your number again?
  • Sorry, can you spell that again?
